Extended Leak Tightness Study: SaniSure® Clamp Performance in Pre- and Post-Gamma Applications
The study addresses the critical challenge of maintaining leak-tight connections in bioprocessing assemblies over extended storage periods.
Abstract: This paper addresses the critical challenge of maintaining leak-tight connections in bioprocessing assemblies over extended storage periods. Traditional hinged clamps often require retightening due to uneven force distribution and gasket deformation.
The study evaluates the SaniSure® Clamp’s performance through an eight-week testing program on both pre- and post-gamma irradiated manifolds. Test assemblies incorporated various fittings and gasket materials, subjected to weekly pressure tests at 120 PSI for 60-minute durations. Results demonstrated consistent leak-tight performance across all configurations, including double-gamma exposed clamps, without requiring retightening.
The study validates the SaniSure® Clamp’s innovative circumferential pressure distribution design, eliminating the need for manual retightening before use and ensuring reliable connection integrity throughout storage periods.
